It acts as tonic for liver, stomach, intestine, haemostatic, resolvent of obstructions, jaundice,dropsy, kidney, reduce fat in the adipose persons. It is highly recommended in the re-union of bones in case of fracture. It is also useful in the Lumbago and as an application to the of the neck and spine.

Bark is used in astrigant, cardiac stimulant, and lithontriptic. It is proven useful in fractures and contusions with extensive ecchymosis, as it promotes union of fractures.
