Cosin-X is an effective and therapeutically formulated cough syrup. It is a combination of selective anti tussive as well as expectorative ingredients. It is a gentle bronchodilator to ensure normal breathing. It treats and cures cough occurring due to various etiology. Mode of Action and Rationality of the combination:

Euginol extracted from tulsipatra helps to clear respiratory tract and provides anti-viral and anti-inflammatory action. Glycyrrizine extracted from Yashtimahdu(mulathi) has anti-tussive properties and soothes the throat and irritated bronchioles. Vasaka an active ingredient in COSIN-X has both mucolytic and mucokynetic action. Somlata and Banafsha liquifies thick tenacious sputum and relives chronic bronchitis with expectoration. Sunthi(sonth) and Talispatra in COSIN-X have anti-infective properties and clears hoarseness of voice.

PRODUCT PROPERTIES & USES:

Adhatoda Vasika (Vasaka): Fresh juice of leaves is an excellent Cough mixture, useful in chronic Bronchitis, Asthma and Phthisis. In consumption, it relieves Cough by its soothing action on the Nerves by liquefying the sputum, which makes expectoration easier. Glycyrrhiza Glabra (mulathi): Highly useful as a demulcent in inflammatory affection or irritable condition of the bronchial tubes It is also used against Cough, Hoarseness, sore throat, Asthma. Also acts as remedy for Coughs and cold, pain, distress of breathing and to alloy thirst. Zingeber Officinale (Sonth): Zingeber Officinale has an anti infective properties and cleans the hoarseness of voice. It is also used against dry and irritable cough. Adiantum Capillus(Hansraj): The leaves are expectorant, diuretic and emmenogogue. It is highly useful against Chronic Cough, Soothes the Throat and irritated bronchioles. Irisflorentina (Pushkar Mool): Roots are cathartic, diuretic, stimulant, and alternative. Roots is used in Bronchitis, Asthma and dry Cough. Ruta Groveolens (Somlata): Acts antiseptic, stimulant, Emmenagogue irritant and aborticfaciant, juice of the plant is stimulant, expectorant and antispasmodic. It is found useful in infantile convulsions and also in Bronchitis. It also liquefies thick tenacious sputum and relives chronic Bronchitis with expectoration. Viola Odarote (Banafsha): Flower used are astringent, demulcent, diaphoretic, diuretic and aperients. It is in bilious Affection, dry Cough. It proves to be helpful if given to infants for cough and tightness of chest. Cordia Latifolia (Shelesmantak): Fruit is demulcent, mild astringent  and tonic fruit is very mucilaginous and mucilage is highly esteemed in cough, in diseases of chest. It is recommended in the cases of Bronchitis, Pneumonia and phthisis. Alpinia Galanga (Kulanjan): The drug is a popular remedy for many respiratory ailments. Alpinia Galanga lessened the paroxysms of Cough in children suffering from whooping Cough, It is also found useful in children suffering from Bronhitis. The drug therefore promises to be of use in respiratory troubles especially those of children. The antispasmodic action of the drug may also proves useful in condition like Asthma. It is also used to improve the voice in throat affections. Lactuca Scariola (Tukme-Kahu): It is highly recommended in active inflammations, in Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma and pertussis. The seeds used are cooling, demulcent and refrigerant. Althaea Officinalis (Resha Khatmi): The plant is supportive and emollient. Carpals used are very useful in dry cough. The sweet soft lozenges are used for sore throat. It is also given in irritable state of the respiratory system. The plant is highly recommended for Cough, Asthma and Bronchitis. Datura Alba (Datura Patra): The leaves used are useful for the relief of Asthma and Paroxysmal Cough. Also recommended in fever, Catarrhal Bronchitis and Cough. Ocimum Sanctum (Tulsi Patra): The plant is a domestic remedy For Cough, Catarrh, Bronchitis and diarrhea.
